A privately held company founded by maverick entrepreneur, Jon Kittelsen, Bite Tech currently counts numerous professional athletes among its investors. The business model is streamlined and unique, built for growth through future innovation and designed to endure.
Founder Jon Kittelsen began Bite Tech’s incredible exploration and discoveries more than 15 years ago. Kittelsen’s foray into oral appliances began at age 14 when he won the National Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competition for “Best New Business and New Product” in the entrepreneurship category. He went on to create EZ Gard Industries and eventually launched Shock Doctor, currently the world’s leading manufacturer of mouthguards for retail distribution. After leaving Shock Doctor, Kittelsen partnered with Dr. Henry Cross III, who had recently retired as Worldwide Technical Director at Colgate Palmolive, and focused on product research and development, which led to the creation of Bite Tech’s proprietary technology.
Perhaps more importantly, this history was filled with critical learning and lessons that have helped make Bite Tech more wise and nimble. After all, the only way to truly understand something is to first try and change it.
